Ways to Use Digital Devices for Homeschool

January 24, 2018 By Thaleia Leave a Comment

Since this month’s theme is Organization I thought I would share some of the digital devices that we use in our homeschool which is one way we stay organized. First, I should probably share what types of digital resources we use and where we got them, and then proceed to share some free resources we use on each. If you are looking for free apps that we use for homeschool I wrote a post about that called-  Must Have Free Apps for Homeschooling.

Ways to Use Digital Devices for #Homeschool EVEN super old cell phones!

We currently use audiobooks, ebooks, and videos in our homeschool. We use both free and borrowed resources as well as CD’s that we own like The Chronicles of Narnia that we earned from My Reader Rewards. (You can earn 50 pts. Per month just for sharing your link on social media!)

We use tablets, mp3 players, old cell phones and our van’s cd player to listen to audiobooks. Since we have many different devices we use what programs and apps they are compatible with. While the idea of having so many “devices” might make your head spin or drive you crazy, I love it! I can easily upload an app or download an ebook to use while “off wifi” so kids can stay on task more easily. The older the device the more limited apps and junk games it will have to offer.

Gone are the days of sitting near the fire in a rocking chair working late into the night by candlelight! Many handicrafts have unfortunately become a lost art since older generations are not passing their skills down to younger generations. My grandmother taught me to cross-stitch and my mother taught me how to sew. I learned a tiny bit of crocheting but never how to knit. My sister crochets afghans and my mother knows how to knit.

Sometimes you seem to be too busy to learn from a family or friend so why not grab a free kindle book and learn how to crochet!

Walking: Weight Loss With Walking – The Workout Plan That Will Help You Burn Fat And Lose Weight Fast (walking, how to lose weight Book 1)-This is an equal-opportunity health and weight loss plan, a plan for rich and poor alike. It doesn’t cost anything to change your life. You only have to go outside and walk. If you let this book inspire you to walk 15 minutes, three times per week, you’ll want to do more. The health benefits of walking reach into every part of your body, improving your breathing (COPD people, this will help), your heart function, your blood pressure, your mood, and last—but certainly not least—walking helps you lose weight. There is no miracle cure that can help you; you must use your own willpower to help yourself. Three 15-minute walks a week are all you need to start down the path to health and weight loss.

Beginner Marathoner’s Faith Training: How to Become a Supernatural Runner-Challenge your spiritual growth like a runner training for a marathon. This devotional will inspire you to pursue God’s purposes for your life by taking you on a 17 week journey that follows marathon training principles. This book will help you boost your mental, emotional and spiritual performance on real running tracks, and even more so, on the trails of life.

Sprinting For Weight Loss: How To Achieve An Accelerated Metabolism And Lose Weight Fast In Just 10 Minutes A Day (Weight Loss Tips, Running For Weight Loss, Losing Weight Fast)-There are many methods to losing weight fast. When it comes to the best exercises for incredibly fast weight loss there are none better than the sprint. Sprinting is for both men and women and can be performed with very little equipment (shoes are recommended). The 50 Best Tips EVER for Running Fitter, Faster and Forever (Instructional Videos and Running Plans Included)-I tried everything. Changing shoes, changing nutrition, changing my running form and changing my training plan. I even prayed to the running gods! It didn’t matter. Every time I’d bolt out the door for a run something new would hurt. I was a broken down, frustrated runner. The most common pain was in my calves and I used to joke that you could flip a coin for which one was going to hurt that day. Because of this, I wasn’t getting fitter and my times certainly weren’t getting faster (in fact, they were getting slower). Running wasn’t fun. Even though it seems like only yesterday, that was five years ago. At the time, the more things I changed, the more it felt like I was wasting my time. But slowly my running started to improve. My body felt better…and healthier. I got fitter…and I got faster. I’m an experimenter at heart – I love tinkering with different things and trying to figure out not only what works…but what works the BEST. In this case, I was after the secret sauce of running.

The Perfect and Simple Guide to Walk and Lose Weight-Welcome to our refreshing and rejuvenating eBook on ‘The Perfect and Simple Guide to Walk and Lose Weight’. This is a different book in all senses because it gives importance to few basic things that many fitness experts sometime seem to lose focus upon. Let us see what they are: Why we need to exercise even if we are slim and fit? Why we need to exercise even if we are above the age of 40 and how to go about it? What is the right type of walking for all ages? Why walking is the most cost effective way of doing exercise? What are the common mistakes we commit and make our walking exercise tiresome and ineffective? Yes, believe or not! We have got the fabulous and naked truths to these five ‘W’s. These are compiled by fitness experts who have researched the common problems that most people seem to face.
