Simple Valentine’s Day Party Game Ideas

January 28, 2018 By Thaleia Leave a Comment

Are you looking for a few simple Valentine’s Day Party games for younger children? I love to create party game ideas that are fun and a little educational as well. My youngest is 4 years old and is looking forward to our homeschool groups Valentine’s Day party. Since we will be participating in the event we were also asked to provide an activity or party game.

Heart Shaped Fine Motor Party Game

Heart Shaped Fine Motor Party Game

For this first party game you will need a few simple supplies:

tray or flat cookie sheet

tweezers, tongs or spoon

heart-shaped containers

Welch’s fruit snacks

Place the tray on the table and lay the heart-shaped containers on the tray. Open up 3-5 bags of fruit snacks and empty into one of the heart-shaped containers. Allow children to take turns trying to transfer the fruit snacks from one heart to another. If you have older children you can use a timer to make it more challenging.

Heart Toss Party Game

For this party game you will need the following supplies:

heart-shaped doilies or large paper hearts

pen

Write a number on each doily or heart. I chose to use 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 so we could practice counting by 5’s. Then scatter the numbered hearts onto a table or floor. Use a pack of fruit snacks and toss onto the numbered heart. You can have the hearts laid out in a random shape or stair stepped by point value. You can choose to keep score or to just have children call out the number that their bag of fruit snacks lands on.

Heart Shaped Tray of fruit snacks

Of course what would be a party without a snack! These smaller bags of Welch’s fruit snacks only have 11g of carbs and come in 32 count boxes perfect for sharing in the classroom, Sunday School, or group party. These smaller carb count packages are great for Eldest to pack in his Type 1 Diabetes sling bag for low blood glucose levels!
