Since Fall is now in full swing and school is back in session it’s time to be thinking about planning some Fall Travel ideas. I am creating a quick list of places that I think would be great to travel during the Fall in Ohio.
Ohio State Parks would be a great place to check out if you are plan some Ohio Fall family travel. You can enjoy the outdoors before the weather becomes too cold. If you are like our family then walking on crisp Fall leaves is always a fun family event. Many of the campgrounds offer special weekend activities through October and some specialty events happen in November. So far we have been to Fort Loramie, Deer Creek, and Punderson Manor but have many more to visit!
Fall Festivals are abounding all across Ohio this time of year from the Renaissance Festival in Harveysburg each weekend in September and October to Apple Butter Stirrin’ Festival, Roscoe Village (Oct. 16-18).
Farm Festival and Corn Mazes must be considered in any Fall Family travel guide no matter what the location! For a list of some across the country including discounts visit Fall Festival Deals.
Many states offer scenic driving tours but Ohio has all sorts of them from Covered Bridges in to Barn Quilts and National Aviation Heritage to Shawshank Redemption!
How about capturing some photos of a dozen or so of Ohio’s Historical Markers. Not sure why someone who isn’t a history buff would want to do this? Well, it’s a great way to spark curiosity in all ages. Check out how we have learned a few things from Historical Markers in our area!
Ohio also offers two unique areas that are apart of the National Forrest and National Parks Service. If you get a chance to check either Wayne National Forest or Cuyahoga Valley National Park, I highly recommend that you do so!
