Let’s Go Fly a Kite

April 17, 2015 By Thaleia Leave a Comment

When was the last time you flew a kite? Have you ever made your own kite? Do you remember the words and tune to that song from Mary Poppins? “Let’s Go Fly a Kite Up in the Atmosphere…” Now that Spring is here our weather has been great for kite flying. Our local parks department relies on this great weather for their annual Kreature Kite Fly event.

Lets go fly a Kite

My phone was almost dead and without WiFi it dies even quicker so I only took a few pictures. I will be relying on my hubby’s pics as well as a friend, Doug Fosnight, who takes the most spectacular pictures!

This was Lil’ Red and Bib Red’s first time to see kites which I hadn’t even realized until we got to the program. Big Red was just the right age to decorate and make a kite with help from mom and dad of course. Lil’ Red was content to just sit and watch most of the time. Princess was sorta on her own but one of the Park Employees was there ready to assist!

Eldest took over 20 minutes to decorate his kite which paid off big time! He won a plaque for the “Most Creative Kite”. This was his 2nd award for the same thing from the same program, lol. Gotta tell you he is a creative kid!

Kite flying is a relatively simple family experience which should be enjoyed when the weather is right. I think the more family member’s or the more families you can get out to fly a kite makes the day that much more fun!
