Gift Ideas for Backyard Camping Adventures

November 23, 2017 By Thaleia Leave a Comment

I long to spend the night in a tent a few times a year but packing up the van and heading to a campground is tricky with four kids and two dogs. I have opted for backyard camping adventures with whomever may want to enjoy an evening in a tent with mom.

Our current tent will not house our entire family or the dogs but is fine for an adult and two kids. I have always heard that you should buy a bigger tent then you need so you have room for gear. I am also considering two tents that house 4 people which should give us ample room for ourselves and our gear. Another bonus of owning smaller tents is indoor camping during the Winter! I keep in mind the tent size and if it will fit in our living room with minimal furniture arranging! If we had a large den or basement I would keep those spaces in mind for sleepovers and birthday parties.
Backyard Camping Wishlist

We are also looking into new sleeping bags and air mattresses depending on what size tent we buy. I have been looking at tents that will house a queen size mattress which means queen size bedding. I highly recommend an air mattress over a sleeping pad for more comfortably sleeping. Each child brings out their own pillow, blanket and a snuggle toy or ten!

Gift Ideas for Preschoolers

November 21, 2017 By Thaleia Leave a Comment

Since my youngest is 4 years old and it’s his last year in preschool I thought a post about gift ideas for preschoolers would be a great idea. Many of the items in this gift ideas list we own or have had our eye on from a long time.

Preschool Gift Guide

Our most recent purchase was a small train table this Summer at a garage sale since Lil’ Red loves cars and trains much more then his older brothers. I didn’t want to pay full price for something he might outgrow in a few years since he is the youngest child. I also was looking for a smaller train table since our house is small.

Gift Ideas for Work at Home Moms

November 19, 2017 By Thaleia 5 Comments

Shop now at Columbia.com!

I didn’t always consider myself a Work at Home Mom but I do now that we depend on my income and the opportunities that blogging and blog coaching affords our family. It is far from glamorous and I do put in a lot of time and hours but the schedule is flexible and varied. With that being said what are gift ideas for work at home moms? Just because we are home more doesn’t mean we don’t need or want things, lol.

WAHM Gift Gudie

I know that it’s hard to come up with things unless I start putting in my Amazon Wishlist throughout the year so I poled some fellow WAHM’s to find out things they would give for gift ideas if they could only pick 3 things.

I would love a Large Dry Erase Wall Calendar for the wall behind my desk which then means I have to be sure to buy enough dry erase markers and dry erase eraser in my favorite colors to keep my planning all organized! On my desk I usually have some sort of desk blotter calendar or simple AT-A-GLANCE Yearly Calendar which helps me keep track of impromptu homeschool events and deadlines.

Being off the computer and learning is important so reading a good book like Balanced: Finding Center as a Work-at-Home Mom would be a nice gift to consider.

Every beverage drinking mom needs a good mug or tumbler to drink her favorite beverage in. It doesn’t have to be old and ugly so why not pick up something cute with a little inspirational quote on it?

If your office space is located away from the kitchen then a Coffee Mug Warmer is a great item to have. I actually own two and use one for candles and the other for keeping beverages warm. During the Summer it doubles as a way to infuse oil with herbs. Be sure to shop DaySpring’s $5 Mug Sale 11/21 to 12/2!

I have found that working on the PC has some draw backs like wrist and arm pain. A vertical mouse helps relief some of the strain from a lot of right clicking as does a mouse pad with wrist support.

My favorite pens to write with while brainstorming are R.S.V.P. Ballpoint Pens! I was first introduced to them about a decade ago during a MOPS meeting where every mom received a pen that had a scripture added into the barrel. I have been using R.S.V.P pens ever since!

Since I am a blog coach and social media manager I need tools that deal with graphic design like PicMonkey for photo editing and ways to schedule social shares like Buffer and Hootsuite.

I love using my noise canceling headphones to listen to music or podcasts while I work. If you need to make phones calls then a pair of earbuds with Built-in Microphone would do the trick.

A subscription to Amazon Music Unlimited with a 30-Day Free Trial or Amazon Prime Music would be a nice gift to give when you do not know what music the WAHM on your list prefers to listen to.

If you are a work at home mom or know of a WAHM who’s family could benefit from this list please share this on Pinterest or Facebook!

Gift Ideas for Essential Oil Users

November 15, 2017 By Thaleia Leave a Comment

Essential oils have been all the rage over the last decade and seem to be growing in popularity and use. I bet that you know more then one person that loves essential oils. You may even need to buy a gift or two related to essential oils. I know that each person has their own preference as to what company their oils are bought from so why not find a nice accessory for the essential oil user on your gift list?

Essential Oil Storage Ideas

I am creating this list from personal desire and some experience with similar products. We have been using essential oils for a handful of years with great success and love using Edens Garden as the main source for our oils. I have gotten quite the collection of bottles so I know that a storage tray or essential oils wooden box would be a nice gift. If the person on your list likes to take their oils with them them a hard shell carrying case or mini carrying case that could easily slip into a purse or backpack would be appreciated.
