Deer Creek Lodge Family Vacation

April 27, 2015 By Thaleia 9 Comments

This year we took our first official vacation as a family with four children. Yes, we survived. Yes, we had fun and had a few unexpected things happen along the way. You can plan all you want for a family vacation and things still happen.

Fun at Deer Creek Lodge

Princess got sick on the way to Deer Creek Lodge. We had some things to pick up along the way and spent an extra hour in the car after getting breakfast at McDonald’s and stopping at Walmart. April 17, 2015 By Thaleia Leave a Comment

When was the last time you flew a kite? Have you ever made your own kite? Do you remember the words and tune to that song from Mary Poppins? “Let’s Go Fly a Kite Up in the Atmosphere…” Now that Spring is here our weather has been great for kite flying. For example my children have never participated in Storytime at the library. (Long detailed/complicated nasty story I will spare the details!) During the Summer I noticed more relaxed “rules” for Storytime which may just allow us to participate with all 4 children! Of course the older ones may be bored but the little guys will love it! (updated… my younger boys did enjoy a session of storytime at our local library when the librarians offered an older kids group!)

I have a few tricks up my sleeve to help us reach some Summer reading goals. I will share some ideas I plan to implement to make Summer Reading fun and worthwhile!
